A 2020 graduate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, 800m runner Nia Akins finished as the runner-up at two NCAA Championships, most recently at the 2019 outdoor national championships. Before her senior season was derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic, she ran a PR of 2:00.71 and nearly broke the indoor collegiate record. Nia is also the 2023 USATF indoor National 800m Champion.
