Courtney Babcock

Courtney Babcock held the Canadian Women’s 5000m record for 16 years and the 10,000m records during the 2003 season. She broke the Canadian 5000m record at the final of the 2003 World Track and Field IAAF Championships in Paris, finishing eighth and securing a spot for the 2004 Olympic Games. Her 1500m time of 4:01.99 ranked among the world’s best that year. Babcock is a five-time national champion and continued her career in coaching, serving as Head Coach of Division 1 Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Assistant Track Coach, earning the title of Conference Coach of the Year in 2010. As a Masters athlete over 40, she has won three World Championships in the 1500m and 800m.

Currently, she coaches runners at all levels and hosts retreats worldwide through her company, Key Running + Retreats. Babcock has had a profound impact on a diverse range of athletes, from high school to adults, helping them surpass their perceived limits and achieve significant milestones, such as qualifying for the Boston Marathon or returning to consistency post-pregnancy. Her athletic journey began in high school, transitioning from basketball, tennis, and swimming to a 14-year running career.
