Carrie welcomes back Sharon Lokedi, NCAA Champ and professional runner for Under Armour Mission Run Dark Sky Distance. Sharon, the 2022 NYCM Champion, has been on a streak, placing third in NY in 2023 and second at the 2024 Boston Marathon. Now, she adds Olympian to her achievements, having just been selected to the Kenyan team for Paris 2024. Sharon shares her journey to this exciting news, from being an alternate to stepping in due to an injury to Brigid Kosgei. She discusses her preparation, goals, race strategy, and the thrill of joining top athletes Hellen Obiri and Peres Jepchirchir on the Kenyan squad.

Sharon Lokedi
Sharon Lokedi is a Kenyan middle- and long-distance runner born on March 10, 1994. She attended the University of Kansas, where she achieved significant success in track and cross country, becoming a 10-time All-American and 12-time Big 12 champion. Lokedi won the 10,000 meters at the 2018 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. In her professional career, she made a remarkable debut by winning the 2022 New York City Marathon. She holds several personal bests, including a marathon time of 2:23:23.
