Aliphine has been a world class athlete since competing at the IAAF World Junior Cross Country Championships in high school for her native Kenya. She grew up in a tiny village called Posoy and was given her first pair of running shoes by two-time New York City Marathon champion Tegla Loroupe. Eventually running brought her to the United States where she studied public health science, something near and dear to her heart. She hopes to go into public health care after her competitive running days are over.
